Best Time to Catch Mahi in Fort Lauderdale

If you’ve been waiting for mahi season to fire off in South Florida, yesterday was the kind of day offshore fishermen dream about aboard The Way Sportfishing.

Just a few miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, we ran into an absolutely massive school of mahi, and the action turned chaotic almost instantly. Within minutes, dolphin fish were crashing baits all around the boat, jumping across the surface, and lighting up electric blue and green in every direction.

In just 30 minutes of fishing, we put roughly 60 mahi in the boat during one of the most action-packed bites we’ve seen this season.
