SUMMER FISHING IN DANIA BEACH, HOLLYWOOD & FORT LAUDERDALE
Summer fishing in South Florida is defined by warm water, consistent bait, and steady action. This is the time of year when schools of bait hold around the reefs and offshore edges, allowing us to fish actively and cover less ground. Launching from Dania Beach, we’re close to areas that produce well throughout the summer months.
Compared to winter, summer fishing is generally faster-paced, with more frequent bites and a wider mix of species. It’s a good season for families, beginners, and groups looking for steady activity while staying close to shore.
TRIP OPTIONS
4 Hour Trip
A solid option during summer. We often fish the reef line or nearby structure where bait is holding. Shorter trips still provide consistent opportunities for snapper, kingfish, tuna, and other reef species.
6 Hour Trip
Our most recommended summer trip. This gives us time to set up on productive areas, move if needed, and adjust techniques throughout the morning or afternoon.
8 Hour Trip
Best for anglers who want maximum time on the water. Allows us to fish multiple areas, spend more time chumming or drifting, and target a broader range of species.
SUMMER
TARGET SPECIES
Mahi Mahi
Mahi are present throughout summer and are commonly found around weedlines, floating debris, and offshore rips. We target them using live bait and sight fishing when conditions allow.
Blackfin Tuna
Blackfin tuna are caught regularly during summer, especially when bait schools are holding tight. These fish often feed aggressively around chum lines.
King Mackerel (Kingfish)
Kings stay active through the summer months and are often caught along the reef edge or near bait schools.
Snapper
Summer provides good opportunities for several snapper species. These fish are often targeted while drifting or fishing structure and are a common part of the summer catch.
Sharks
Reef sharks and other shark species are common during summer and are often caught while fishing live baits for other species.
